Youngsters at Meadowgate School in Wisbech will get to enjoy more out-of-school activities thanks to a £750 donation.

The Wisbech Masonic Benevolent Fund presented the money to the school last Tuesday and were delighted to see the work that goes on there.

David Bays, chairman of the Masonic Trust, said: “They are amazing people at the school and they do absolutely fantastic work. We are so pleased we could help them.”

Simon Anderson is assistant headteacher at Meadowgate and was pleased to receive the money.

“Donations like this make a big difference,” he said. “We do try and give the children as many different experiences as we can.”

The Benevolent Fund brings together the two Masonic Lodges of Wisbech. Members donate money which is given to good causes locally.

In the past, they have donated to the St Raphael Club, cadet forces, Scouts and Guides, as well as individuals who need funding to do work abroad.
