A new and exciting partnership was launched at Cromwell Community College this week.
The partnership between the College and MM UK / MM Flowers has been set up through Business in the Community’s flagship education programme, Business Class.
Business Class aims to create long term strategic partnerships between schools and businesses to create opportunities for young people to increase their employability skills and aspirations.
MM UK, a global company based in Chatteris, are growers and distributors of fresh produce, flowers, juices and ice cream and are keen to be involved with their local College.
The two organisations will work together to provide a range of opportunities to enrich the curriculum including work experience interviews, Assessment days, supporting Spanish and English lessons and helping to establish technology challenge days.
The launch included a series of assemblies to inform pupils about the work of MM UK and MM Flowers. Key Stage 3 pupils were also set the challenge of designing a logo to represent the partnership and the joint working that will be taking place. The winning logo will be used on all official paperwork.
A spokesperson from Cromwell said: “We are delighted by the link and are looking forward to learning from the business expertise that exists in MM UK and MM Flowers. We hope that the company will also be able to learn something from us!”
Andrew West from MM said: “We’re really looking forward to developing our partnership with Cromwell and can already see tangible benefits for both Cromwell and MM. As we develop our collaboration in the future, I am confident that the school will become an integral partner to our Chatteris business.”
