Outstanding for community group

MARCH’S Maple Grove Community Group is celebrating after maintaining its

OFSTED status of ‘Outstanding’ in all areas during the latest round of inspections.

The Group provides pre-school facilities and before and after school child care for the children living in the North March area.

The group, which also offers a holiday club for children up to 11 years from across the wider community, was heavily praised by OFSTED.

In the report, the inspector found the group’s learning environment to be very well organised, bright and welcoming. Staff were praised for their exceptional capability in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Comment was also made about the staff’s knowledge, experience and ability to recognise the uniqueness of every child, enabling care and education to be tailored to their individual needs.

A constant buzz of enjoyment was encountered by OFSTED with children immersing themselves in their learning and accessing a wonderful range of indoor and outdoor play facilities.

The only suggestion of improvement made by OFSTED concerned the group’s induction procedures for volunteers, which is currently being addressed. In its concluding remarks, OFSTED found the children to be happy, independent, of outstanding behaviour and acquiring excellent skills to prepare them for the future.

Group manager Tina Bidwell said of the report: “We are all tremendously proud to have achieved the Outstanding status for the second time, our dedicated staff work extremely hard to provide the children with an enjoyable, stimulating yet educational experience.”
