TYDD St Mary Playgroup has a double reason to celebrate – a total of £675 was raised at the recent summer fair and Ofsted has rated the group as ‘Good’ in all areas.
The pre-school summer fair saw adults and children alike enjoy a range of stalls and games, including face painting and a barbecue.
The money raised will go towards a new sign for the pre-school and enable the children to visit the dinosaur park for their summer topic outing.
The pre-school was also pleased to have a good report from Ofsted.
The report stated that the playgroup is “fully inclusive” and the children enjoy a wide range of learning opportunities. It is also held in high regard by parents and carers.
The inspector believes the playgroup has “a good capacity for further improvement” and the facility should increase opportunities for children to further their ability to take responsibility and make decisions.
The outdoor area has undergone significant changes since the establishment was last inspected and this was praised in the Ofsted report. However, it should be further improved to enhance children’s communication and literacy skills.
The pre-school was praised for the wide range of visits children are taken on. Positive images of world diversity are also promoted and children celebrate a number of religious and cultural festivals.
