MARCH Neale-Wade Community College is looking for a new Principal after current head Tim Hitch announced his early retirement.
Mr Hitch (pictured above), who has held the post for the past five years, announced his intention to take early retirement this summer in a letter home to parents on Friday.
In the letter Mr Hitch explained the school’s governors had agreed to accept his request for early retirement from August 31.
He said the decision to the leave had been made “after a great deal of consideration and not a little hesitation”.
He said: “The new college buildings will offer March and the Neale-Wade exciting opportunities in the near future, but there is still a considerable amount of planning and careful consideration to be done.
“I therefore feel a new principal should be appointed who can see these opportunities through.”
The post will be advertised in the Times Educational Supplement next week to start the process of appointing Mr Hitch’s successor,.
Mr Hitch concluded by saying it will be “absolutely business as usual until my departure.”
