HANDBAGS and gladrags were the order of the evening on Wednesday when Year 6 pupils marked the end of their junior school education with a special leavers prom.
The event held at the Orchards School in Wisbech saw the youngsters arriving in a variety of vehicles including limousines for an evening of dancing with a barbecue.
They were greeted with glasses of fizzy lemonade served in Champagne glasses. They also had their pictures taken.
The prom was just one celebration to mark the milestone in their education as they also had a special leavers assembly where they were presented with memory books.
The Year 6 teachers also wrote poems mentioning every child by name, which was read out during the assembly.
