Wisbech college students took part in a charity fun run at the town’s Hudson Leisure Centre in Wisbech this week in aid of raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
About 10 public services students ran 101 miles on a treadmill the equivalent from Wisbech to London all in aid of the good cause.
The students chose the charity because one of their number, James Elsey (16) from Wisbech, had a personal link to the charity with his uncle being currently treated and supported by Macmillan. His fellow students wanted to support James and decided upon this charity as they felt many people were affected by cancer.
James alone raising £300 with the total amount set to be in excess of £500.
Stuart Harrowing lecturer said: “I am very proud of all the students who took part in the run and helped to raise so much money for such a worthy cause. It’s an excellent effort from everyone involved we will all be celebrating our achievement.”
