PEOPLE passing Thomas Eaton Primary School in Wimblington last week may have done a double take after spotting some unusual characters in the garden.
A host of scarecrows took up residence there as part of the school’s harvest festival celebrations.
The school’s PTA came up with the idea as a novel way to get everyone thinking creatively about the seasonal celebration.
Each class created their own scarecrow – and some enjoyed it so much they made more than one.
Parents were also invited along to see what their youngsters had created.
On Friday, the harvest festival assembly was held and Year 6 pupils then went out in the village to distribute the traditional food parcels to pensioners.
PTA committee member Julie Dent thanked all the teachers and children for their hard work which made the scarecrows such a success.
