Pupils at a Chatteris school have been inspired by a visit from a published author.
John Brindley spent Thursday with Year 7 pupils at Cromwell Community College and was keen to share his knowledge and experience about writing with the youngsters.
Jackie Harding, from Cromwell, said: “He talked about how he became an author and answered loads of questions.
“The students were really keen and excited to meet him. They asked some good questions.”
Questions ranged from the usual “Where do you get your inspiration from?” to the more off-topic such as “What’s your favourite football team?” But John was happy to answer them all.
He has also put out an offer to any aspiring writers in the school and said that if they upload stories to his website he will read them and give feedback.
John has written 13 books for young people aged nine and over. He writes about a wide variety of subjects, from science fiction to bullying. When not writing novels, John writes the scripts for, co-produces and acts in Murder Mystery events performing in larger restaurants, dinner venues and function halls throughout the South East of England.
