KIND-hearted Fenland people have helped make it a special Easter for children across the area.
There’s been a great response to an appeal by the Anglia Co-operative Travel branches in Wisbech and March – with literally scores of eggs donated by readers of this newspaper.
Staff at the Wisbech branch in the town’s Westgate department store presented dozens of eggs to Wisbech Salvation Army’s Major Robert Smart on Tuesday.
Branch manager Kelly Hubbard said: “The Salvation Army will distribute them to children in the area who otherwise may not be fortunate enough to receive any eggs this Easter.
“It’s the first year we have run an Easter eggs appeal and our customers and your readers have been so generous. We’re very grateful to everyone for their donations.”
Anglia Co-operative Travel’s March branch has also collected lots of eggs. These will go to Fenland Home-Start, which supports vulnerable children and families in the area.
Branch manager Natasha Thatcher said: “The generosity the public has shown has been brilliant. Their kind donations will help such a worthy cause.”
