With just over three months to go before the elections on May 7, Fenland District Council is running four special advice sessions next week to encourage people to make sure they will be able to vote.
Two take place next Thursday (February 5) – one at the Rosmini Centre in Wisbech (10am-noon), the other at March Library (2-4pm). Two more will be held on Friday (February 6) at the Chatteris Community Hub (10am-noon) and the Whittlesey Community Hub (2-4pm).
A member of the council’s electoral services team will be available at each one to help people with registering.
The sessions are in support of National Voter Registration Day, an event initiated by the organisation Bite the Ballot.
May 7 is the date when electors will be voting in the district and town and parish elections as well as the General Election.
The deadline to register to vote in all the polls is April 20 but the council is advising anyone who has not already registered to do so as soon as possible.
Anyone not already registered to vote can do so online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or contact Fenland District Council by email firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 01354 654321 to request a paper form.
