Sixty-nine community and voluntary groups across Norfolk, including Emneth Central Hall, are celebrating grant awards of up to £5,000 set to strengthen the county’s communities.

Funding totalling £256,000 has been allocated in this fifth round of grants from the Norfolk Community Fund which is administered by the Norfolk Community Foundation.

Emneth Central Hall management committee was awarded £4,384 to go towards refurbishing the kitchen facilities.

The fund, launched in October 2011, has been created to help charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to support and strengthen their local communities.

The funding is set to benefit a range of organisations and projects involving a wide range of people right across the county:

George Nobbs, the new Leader of Norfolk County Council, said: “I’m delighted that with this new round of funding the Norfolk Community Fund has now given more then £1m to over 280 groups right across the county.

“The funds aim of supporting communities to run activities for local people and giving a helping hand to new initiatives to get off the ground is certainly being fulfilled.”
