Grants of up to £8,000 are being made available to landlords to help them make energy-saving improvements to their rented properties.

All landlords and letting agencies in Fenland are being invited to a free event in Wisbech to find out more about the grants and products on offer.

The event is being held at the Boathouse Business Centre on Tuesday, September 16, from 6.30pm to 8pm, and will include a light supper.

It has been organised by Fenland Council which is working with private company Climate Energy on a new scheme called Action on Energy. The scheme offers funding to provide discounted, and in some cases free, heating and insulation improvements to landlords and works, on a first come, first served, basis.

As well as giving landlords a chance to speak to the funding providers, the event will provide information on future energy efficiency legislative changes affecting them.

Social landlord Luminus will also be sharing its experiences of recent energy efficiency improvements to properties in Wisbech.

To secure a place at the event, contact Isabel Edgington, the council’s senior events and projects officer, on 01354 654321 or email: iedgington@fenland.gov.uk
