March’s Estover Playing Field Association is still in need to support to keep the facility running.
Only small support has been forthcoming following an appeal in last week’s Citizen but secretary Sue Clenshaw is still hoping the community will rally round. One person who read about the association’s plight and who lives nearby sent a letter with a cash donation which Sue said was lovely.
They support the association’s action and the donation was from their Christmas fund. The writer said keeping the field would be a Christmas present for everyone. The Seven Stars pub has offered the association use of a room and Sue wants to hear from anyone prepared to hold a fundraiser for the field. She can be contacted on 01354-653540.
The association needs £4,000 a year to continue. Its £3,500 grant from Fenland Council has been slashed to £500 this year and current funds run out at Christmas.
