EUROMILLIONS winner Angela Dawes is a volunteer at the British Heart Foundation charity shop in Wisbech and her colleagues say it couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.

Angela has volunteered at the shop for the past couple of years and could be found once a week sorting through the jewellery and accessories and putting them out in the shop.

Manager Janet Kenworthy could not believe it when she saw her colleague on the television giving a press conference with husband Dave following the announcement at 2pm today (Tuesday).

“We’re so pleased for her. She’s a lovely lady, a really nice person. She hasn’t had a very good year, so this is wonderful for them. It couldn’t have happened to a nice person,” Janet said.

She added they would have to have a celebration in the Market Place shop.

Unfortunately Janet chose today to be off work, leaving her colleague Ann in charge. Staff were overwhelmed when reporters and news cameras flocked to the shop to interview them about Angela’s good news.
