Eyes down for PAW

A LOCAL family is setting up a new animal charity to continue and commemorate the animal welfare work started by their friend and colleague, June Scotting, who died in a road traffic accident in December.

Dawn, Graham and Adrian Sammons, formerly of Emneth, are amalgamating the various funds they raised money for with June into one fund called PAW - Promoting Animal Welfare - which they will run from their boarding kennels near Downham Market. June and Dawn worked together for many years to help charities including All Dogs Matter (England), Javea Dog Pound (Spain) and Soi Dog Foundation (Thailand).

Now Dawn wants to continue that help but out of one fund to simplify administration. And she is setting up a stray dog re-homing facility at Ashley’s Boarding Kennels so anyone looking for a dog should check the website www.ashleyskennels.co.uk to see dogs looking for a new home. The first event for PAW is a prize bingo on Thursday (March 15) at Emneth Central Hall, Eyes Down 7.15pm.
