Crafty pupils at Wisbech Grammar School transformed trash into cut-price chic.

At an annual house event based on recycling and the environment pupils made rhythmic music with recycled materials as well as assembling an artwork jigsaw and building mobiles using geometric shapes. They also honed their taste for high ‘trashion’, converting old newspapers, crisp packets and bin liners into gear designed to grab the hearts of fashionistas.
Pupils strutted their stylish stuff on a catwalk to the beat of music they had composed and performed, with giant murals providing a stunning backdrop.
The contest between the four houses finished with a win for Peckover under the leadership of Mrs Samantha Goodier.
Head of houses Mr Tim Chapman said: “The event generated a buzz in the school and a huge amount of excitement during the finale. Everyone enjoyed it as well as learning something new.”
