Fashion show farewell

A WISBECH dress shop has held a special fashion show to raise money for charity.

Gems and Gowns, in Wisbech Market Place, showcased bridal and prom wear at the show, which was held in the Gallery Bar and Restaurant.

Although the turnout was disappointing, the show raised around £100, which will be donated to Cancer Research.

The fashion show was also a special farewell for owner Gemma Matten, who is bowing out of the business.

She will be handing over the reins to March seamstress Margaret Baines, who has 20 years experience.

Margaret will be keeping the name Gems and Gowns and will be running the business from her home, where she currently makes dresses.

Gemma will remain at the Market Place shop but it will be receiving a makeover. She wants to keep the nature of the shop a secret for now and is hoping it will open next month.
