Fen Drayton School is proud to be organising the third Fen Drayton 10k run and children’s Fun Run following two very successful events in 2011 & 2012.
Each run follows footpaths around the beautiful RSPB Fen Drayton Lakes nature reserve, and both races will start and finish at the school.
The event promises to be a great day out for all the family, runners and non-runners alike, with a BBQ, hog roast and beer tent, and children’s entertainment including a bouncy castle, bungee jumping, fairground rides and ice creams. This year, the event will raise money for EACH (2013’s main charity) Blind Veterans UK and other local charities.
The 10k run starts at 11am and the Fun Run starts at 1pm. The 10K run will be chip timed and is open to anyone 16 years of age and over, and the Fun Run is open to all ages, but children under 10 years of age will need to be accompanied by an adult.
There will be shields and rosettes for all age category winners and medals for all finishers. Brooks vouchers will be awarded to the non-affiliated winners in categories M50, F50 as well as the fastest runner aged 60 years & over. Runners for both the 10k and the Fun Run need to pre-register via the event website: www.fendrayton10k.org.uk and the closing date for 10K entries is 30th April.
The Fen Drayton 10K is part of the Advance Performance A1 Series of races.
Fen Drayton School is very grateful to the main race sponsors: Hockey’s of Cambridge plus Bracey’s Accountants, Iceni & 9bar. Thanks also go to all the many volunteers who are helping to organise this event.
The 10K has been measured and certified by the SEAA. This is an ARC accredited 10K race.
