EIGHT talented acts took to the stage at March Town Hall on Saturday for the Fenland Citizen and Fenland Arts ‘Search For A Star 2012’ evening of entertainment.
It was a showcase night for acts to perform in front of representatives of the local festival entertainment organisations, which included representatives from the St George’s Day Fair, March Summer Festival, Chatteris Festival, Whittlesey Festival, Manea Gala, Wisbech St Mary Country Fayre and the Wisbech Bring and Share.
Brother and sister Connor and Holly Orridge kicked off the evening with Holly on vocals and Connor on guitar, followed by singers Shannon Buckton and Abigail Peters who sang numbers from the West End.
Finishing the first half was the youngest performer, ten-year-old Haydyn Stimpson. Tom Harlock and Aimee Peart-Webb entertained the audience during the break and then 12 year-old Scott Fordham did some amazing tricks with his magic show. Second half singers were Chelsie Smithson and Shannon Barrow. Closing the evening was Mikie Denis, a singer/songwriter who sang his own songs and played the guitar.
Said Katherine Nightingale, Fenland Arts Officer: “Thanks to everyone who took part and attended the event making it a very special evening. We look forward to seeing the performers again over the coming months.”
