Kind-hearted people from across Fenland helped to ease the misery for hundreds of people in the area over the festive period.
They produced a ‘wonderful’ response to the annual Christmas Hamper Appeal organised by Wisbech Salvation Army.
Donations of food and new toys from Fenland people and organisations meant that more than 100 families were helped.
Wisbech Salvation Army Territorial Envoy Alison Day said: “Many thanks to all those individuals and organisations who gave donations to our appeal.
“Thisyear we were able to help 108 families to have Christmas food and new toys for their children.
“Altogether we provided food for 412 people – 176 adults and 236 children.
“It is wonderful to see how much the local community has generously supported those in need again this year.”
