Teenagers from Fenland crewed a boat around the Isle of Wight as part of their National Citizen Service (NCS) graduate programme.

The 10 young people from the March and Chatteris area completed the 122-mile trip with the Rona Sailing Project.

They learned about crewing a boat and working and living together as a team, and earned a Start Yachting certificate as a result.

The trip was a follow-on from their summer (NCS) programme and aimed to further develop their skills whilst gaining new knowledge and experiences.

Organisers are now recruiting for the next NCS summer programme, which is open to young people aged 15 to 18. For more information contact senior young people’s worker Vicki Wright on 01354 750359 or via email at vicki.wright@
