OUTWELL village has bid a fond farewell to a loyal postman who has retired after 43 years.
Adrian Russell has worked in the village for almost half a century but is now taking a well-earned rest after years of pounding the pavements of Outwell.
A special presentation was made to him on Wednesday after a collection from residents raised £852.
Some of the money has already been used to buy Adrian a rotovator and a bird table and he is still deciding how to spend the remainder.
He also received presents from individual people who wanted to mark the occasion and thank Adrian for his dedication.
Parish councillor Janet Edgson made the presentation to Adrian. She was accompanied by fellow councillor Tina Golding and council chairman John White, Nick and Amanda Greenland from Outwell Post Office and people from the village.
