AT least £1,600 was raised from Saturday’s fitness extravagana at Wisbech’s Hudson Leisure Centre for two-year-old Maddison Kilby, of Wisbech St Mary.
Karen Goode who works at the centre organised the event. The highlight of the day saw Sam Newman completing a 26 mile marathon on the treadmill in three hours and 50 minutes, raising over £500 in sponsorship and an additional £100 plus was raised in donations. Sheila Reitz completed 36 miles on the bike in just over an hour and Karen completed 26 miles in 59 minutes. Sam Kilby (Maddison’s dad) also completed 26 miles on the bike in 53 minutes.
There were four fitness classes from midday until 4pm where 102 people attended. Thanks to instructors Nicki, Bernie, Nat, Lisa and Olivia who gave their time for free.
There was also various stalls along with a cake stall ran by Julie Epps and raffle by Becky Goode.
Thanks also go to Fenland Council (Hudson Leisure Centre) for the venue Fenland Hygiene for printing and supplying the T-Shirts, Delta Systems, Peterborough Greyhound Stadium, Single Resource, Top to Toe and Jack Keatley.
Maddison has autism and her family are raising money for a chill out room at her home.
