MEMBERS of Wisbech Conservative Club have raised more than £2,000 for Help for Heroes.

The money was raised through a special event held at the Hill Street club in November.

A cheque for £2,080.10 was presented to Roy Mays, a representative from Help for Heroes, on December 18.

The fundraiser was a huge success, according to the organisers, and saw five singers take to the stage, free of charge.

There were also two raffles, with a new mountain bike donated by Gresham Paul earning a draw of its own.

Organisers said: “We would like to thank everyone who participated in a successful evening and a big thanks to all members.”
