RAIN meant a teddy bear’s picnic had to be relocated inside on Friday but that did not stop the fun at Wisbech South Children’s Centre.

Unfortunately, the weather also kept away the youngsters and only two children made it for the picnic. It also put a dampener on a visit to Wisbech Park.

Staff members carried on regardless and one-year-old Jayden Baker and his sister Chloe (4) had the centre to themselves.

The pair – and their furry friends – had fun putting together their own picnics and making sandwiches.

Then lots of teddy-themed fun ensued. Senior family involvement worker Donna Squires organised lots of different things to do at the free event, from rhyming to teddy racing and crafts.

She said: “We were hoping for more than two children, but I don’t know if the weather put people off.”
