It’s that time of year again – oh yes it is!
With Christmas fast approaching, panto season is getting into full swing.
Drumming up support for its seasonal showing at Wisbech’s Christmas lights switch-on on Sunday were cast members of the award-winning RATz, from the town’s Angles Theatre.
Members of the amateur dramatic company performed on stage in full costume at the packed event to promote its forthcoming pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which kicks off at The Angles next week.
The traditional family panto, based on the popular fairytale, promises fun and laughter for all ages – with all the right ingredients and characters to make the show a festive treat to remember.
There will be the usual panto dame, plenty of comedy capers and the evil witch to boo and hiss at!
Performances start at the theatre next week with a showing at 7.30pm on Friday, December 12, and at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, December 13.
Then there are evening showings as well as Saturday matinees running right up to Christmas, with matinees also being held between Christmas and New Year’s Eve from Sunday, December 28, to Wednesday, December 31.
Tickets, costing £11 for adults, £9 for concessions and £36 for a family of four, are available from the box office on 01945 474447.
Also getting ready for their panto is the March and District Amateur Operatic Society.
The award-winning group is currently stepping up rehearsals in preparation for its colourful showing of Aladdin and his Magical Lamp in the New Year.
The panto is being held at the March Youth and Community Centre in Station Road, March, with two shows on Friday and Saturday, January 2 and 3, at 2.30pm and 6.30pm, and a final show at 2.30pm on Sunday, January 4.
Tickets are now on sale at Optima Estate Agents in High Street, March, from 01354 652488 or online at www.madaos.org
