MARCH schoolboy George Bidwell has sacrificed his hair to leave a parting gift to his junior school.

The 11-year-old Westwood School pupil decided to have his headshaved to raise cash to buy games for the Year 6 common room and also for the NSPCC.

On Wednesday hairdresser Beth Lenton of Tangles in City Road, March, took her clippers along to give George’s locks the chop.

His proud mum Tina explained George decided to raise money for the children’s charity after seeing upsetting television adverts.

George, who is set to start Neale-Wade Community College in September, has not had a haircut for over 12 months.

His sacrifice netted around £200 in sponsorship, which will be split between the two good causes.
