FROM today (Monday), NHS Cambridgeshire will be at local supermarkets to promote the new Supermeals campaign and encouraging people to join in.

The Supermeals campaign is offering money-off healthy foods as well as healthy recipe ideas. By signing up to Change4Life you can get money off foods like fruit and veg and low fat yoghurts at local supermarkets - as well as free recipe ideas.

Supermeals, part of the national Change4Life healthy lifestyles and obesity prevention campaign, aims to help adults and families plan their shopping so that they can prepare quick, easy and healthier meals on a budget.

It’s all about getting organised and planning for a healthier lifestyle, as with a little careful planning and some helpful hints and tips, you can save time, money and eat better!

To give a kick start to a healthy New Year Cambridgeshire’s Change4Life Supermeals team will be out with the Heart Angels in local supermarkets from Monday, 16 January through to Tuesday, 24 January helping to promote the campaign and giving people free advice and support. There is even a chance to win a Nintendo Wii Fit.

So come along to one of the following locations to find out more about Supermeals and to enter the competition.

Val Thomas Consultant in Public Health at NHS Cambridgeshire said: “We hope that this campaign and these events will make it easier for people to make small changes in the way they live.

“Many people are nervous that it will be too difficult or expensive to eat healthily, but the Change4Life campaign is giving recipe ideas and money off shopping which can make it easier than you think. Making even small changes can do wonders for your overall health.”

By signing up with Change4Life you can find exciting recipe ideas, watch online cooking tutorials from Ainsley Harriott and have the chance to get a free cookbook.

These local events aim to show people that there are plenty of ways to get involved and give some of the healthy recipes a try.
