Be transported half a century back in time with The Golden Age of Steam Exhibition at March and District Museum.
Explore an array of memorabilia from the steam era that ended 50 years ago, in November 1963, when the last steam locomotive left March shed.
The exhibition includes documents and artefacts on loan to the museum by a local collector and will be on display until the New Year.
There are a selection of photographs of the steam era on display and lots of history and information about the shed, the locos, the footplatemen and incidents involving local men and engines.
There is also a copy of the recent archaeological excavation, which took place before phase two of the Network Rail development on the site.
