RODDONS Housing Association is gearing up to give away £300,000 in funding to community groups and organisations across Fenland.
The money forms part of the £1 million pot set aside to spent on community projects when the housing stock was transferred to Roddons from Fenland District Council in November 2007.
To date, nearly 60 community groups and larger organisations have benefited from funding for a wide range of projects which have enhanced the life chances of many residents across Fenland.
This year, particular preference will be shown to applicants who can demonstrate activities or initiatives around: tackling unemployment, affordable warmth and financial inclusion.
Managing director of Roddons, Christopher Smith, explained that this year’s community funding was likely to be more important that ever as many community groups and other organisations felt the impact of reductions in public expenditure.
Applications close on March 31, 2011.
Community groups can contact Wendy Coles, community and projects officer for Roddons, on 01354-607243 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information, advice or guidance, and/or an application pack.
