Game set and match to UK recession busters 99p Stores.

With Wimbledon just around the corner, starting on June 20, why BUY expensive strawberries when you can GROW them for just 99p!

The value retailer, with 143 UK branches including two here in the Fenlands, reckon they have the ‘advantage’ on the rest of the High Street as hard-up, thrifty and green Britons now look to grow their own fruit and vegetables, including strawberries - as pictured here – as well as honeydew melons, corn on the cob and peas.

High Street chain 99p Stores reports sales of its 99p ‘Grow Me’ range have “soared” in the last year.

The recession-busting brand has also specially created a ‘ten items for under a tenner’ gardening range.

This range is available now at 99p Stores branches in Wisbech town centre - as well as in Huntingdon town centre too.

And we have secured 10 of these packs these specially for you.

To be in with a chance of winning, answer the following question: What date does Wimbledon start?

Put your answer on the back of a sealed envelope or postcard, along with your name, address and a daytime telephone number, and send it - marked WIMBLEDON COMPETITION - to the Citizen at 11 Union Street, Wisbech or 26 Market Place, March.

Entries can also be emailed to competitions@fenlandcitizen.co.uk
