EXPERT advice is on hand at your local pharmacy during Pharmacy Week
Your local pharmacy provides a wide range of health related services. NHS Cambridgeshire is reminding people of this during National Pharmacy Week, which this year is taking place from November 7 to 13.
Kelvin Rowland-Jones Principal Pharmacist at NHS Cambridgeshire said: “Many people do not realise the range of services that are available on their doorstep at their local pharmacy. ‘Ask Your Pharmacist Week’ is an ideal opportunity to promote the role that pharmacies play in helping people make the best use of medicines and to raise awareness of the services that are available too.
“Your local pharmacy is able to provide you with confidential and expert advice and treatment for a range of common illnesses and complaints, without having to wait for a GP appointment or go to A & E.”
To find out details of how to access your local pharmacist you can visit wwww.nhs.uk/servicedirectories or call NHS Direct on 0845-46447.
Many pharmacies these days have a private consultation area where patients can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without been overheard by other members of the public.
