Health and work programme

THE British Heart Foundation is holding a new Health at Work seminar in Chatteris in October, and it is free to all Fenland businesses when you reserve your place in July.

The charity is asking employers and HR managers to attend the seminar at South Fens Business Centre on October 13 to learn how to inspire a healthy workforce through the BHF’s free Health at Work programme.

Whether you’re a health co-ordinator, a volunteer champion or a general manager, this health at work seminar will give you the skills and confidence to promote better health in your organisation.

Workplace health is an area that Fenland District Council are concentrating on after receiving a £100,000 grant from the heart charity to improve the heart health of the Fenland community through the Hearty Lives programme.

Caring for the health of your workforce could make a huge impact on your overall business performance. The seminar will help businesses responsible for the welfare of their employees, to do this.

Lisa Purcell Health at Work Project Manager at the BHF said “This is an excellent way to engage with organisations that take their colleagues health to heart. We would like to encourage local businesses in and around Fenlands to sign up. Attendees will have the chance to familiarise themselves with a BHF Health at Work programme and explore how to apply it to their own workplace setting. Delegates also receive a free Think Fit! practical resource pack which contains a step-by-step guide to promoting workplace health, including a range of ideas, challenges and signposts. The investment is minimal compared to the personal and organisational goals achieved.”

The BHF are urging Fenlands businesses to sign up and take part since the seminar is free. To find out more and reserve your space visit bhf.org.uk/healthseminareast
