Customers who have been struggling to get Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia liquid have been reassured that supply should be resumed shortly.
A March resident contacted the Citizen to say his sister, who gets the liquid on prescription, had been finding it hard to source it from chemists in the town.
A GSK spokesperson, who sell the liquid, said: “Recent testing showed that one of the ingredients in the product was not compliant with the European Pharmacopaeia (EP) sulphate limit test of 0.5%. While there is no safety issue for consumers, GSK has put stock on hold until this situation is resolved. We are working to make it available as quickly as possible.”
