VOLUNTEERS are needed to help promote health and wellbeing in Fenland.
The charity Mytime Active is keen to recruit “enthusiastic and motivated” individuals to train as “volunteer health champions” to help with its expanding work.
They would assist existing Personal Health Trainers in spreading positive messages about healthy lifestyles - for example, by encouraging people to eat a balanced diet and take more exercise as well as helping them to quit smoking and reduce the amount of alcohol they drink.
Mytime Active’s Brigitte McCormack said: “We’re looking to attract more helpers, particularly in March, Wisbech and Whittlesey. Your roles could include attending community events and health fairs, leading walks and promoting the Cambridgeshire Personal Health Trainer service.
“You’ll be given full training leading to a nationally recognised qualification and you’ll get your essential expenses reimbursed.
“As well as the satisfaction you’ll get from helping others, it’ll be good for your CV and your future job prospects.”
