Wisbech’s newest charity shop has made a presentation of more than 200 items of food to Wisbech Foodbank.
The Rose Project (Responsive Operations Securing Events of the Past) recently opened in Norfolk Street and made a presentation of 283 items of food to the foodbank last week.
Area manager Mark Mearman said the charity started as an archeological project which then branched into working with other local charities. They have a particular focus on homelessness and those that work with homeless people.
The foodbank donation was purchased using the proceeds from the shop and the Rose Project plans to make it a regular occurrence. The charity has another shop in Thorney Toll but money will always go to charities local to each shop and will not go out of the area.
