New life in Cambridgeshire Police Force for rescue spaniel
Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) Dog Unit is appealing for help in renaming one of its newest recruits.
A new pooch, who came from a rescue centre in Devon, has joined the six-week training course and is already picking up skills quickly.
But the only problem with the latest recruit on four paws is that he shares the same name as one of his fellow trainees, Duke.
This has prompted the unit to appeal to the public for their help in renaming him so as not to cause confusion during the training.
The team has already come up with a shortlist of nine names and are now asking fans of the BCH Dog Unit’s Facebook page to vote for their favourite.
The names in the running are: Buzz, Charlie, Frank, Taz, Tiggy, Trigger, Whizz, Zippy and Yoda.
In order to vote people will need to first ‘like’ the BCH Dog Unit’s Facebook page, which launched on Monday (June 1). People will then be able to cast a vote on the poll set up on the page.
Voting closes at 3.30pm on Friday (June 5) and the winning name will be announced soon after.
To find the Facebook page visit www.facebook.com/BCHPoliceDogs. The team can also be followed on Twitter, although votes cast here will not be counted: www.twitter.com/dogpolicebCH.
