Promotion was in the air for one cadet at 272 (Wisbech) Squadron as Cadet Corporal Ross Chadney was promoted to the rank of Cadet Sergeant.
Cadet Sergeant Chadney will now take up his role of Senior NCO and will be able to lead the NCO team more by mentoring the cadets more junior to himself while also setting and maintaining a high standard within the squadron.
His promotion is the result of much hard work on his part while being a Corporal both in academic skills and leadership ability. Already this year he was the Squadron Cadet representative at the Wing Commanders dining out night and has also represented 272 at sporting events such as athletics and cross country along with attendance at Easter camp held at Catterick Garrison.
“I can’t stop smiling. I am so pleased that I have reached the rank of Sergeant,” said Cadet Corporal Chadney.
Sergeant Chadney’s new rank will be tested at the up and coming Wing Field Weekend having been given the role of leading the Drill Team. He was presented with his rank slides on final parade by Officer in Charge, 272 (Wisbech) Squadron, Flying Officer Colin Arnold.
