Eight brave men proved they were hot stuff by taking on the challenge of a chili eating contest.
Skylarks Garden Centre in Wimblington organised the event on Sunday as part of Father’s Day celebrations. Padrone, Jalapeno, super chili, Seranade, Numex, Habnaro, Scotch Bonnet and Dorset Naga were among the chilis which were eaten by the men on the day. The contest was won by Russ Sutton, from Peterborough, who managed to eat six chilis in a minute during the final. Event manager Bart Woodbine, who is pictured above, said: “It was hilarious, their eyes would start to run and their faces would sweat.” A strawberry contest was also held.
