It’s a sure sign that spring is just around the corner – Huntingdon Racecourse is hosting its opening Family Fun Day of the year on Sunday (2 MARCH).

With accompanied children given complimentary admission as always, an afternoon packed with free entertainment is planned alongside seven horse races which begin at 2pm.

There are garden games, a large obstacle course, a big bouncy castle, nine-hole crazy golf, face painting, simulator and penalty shoot-out.

Gold coins are being hidden around the Main Enclosure and visitors who find them during a treasure hunt will win some exciting prizes.

On the race track, the feature race is the £12,000 Huntingdon Racecourse Handicap Chase, part of The Jockey Club’s Grassroots Jumps Series which is designed to support the foundation level of jump racing.

Nadia Gollings, General Manager of Huntingdon Racecourse, said: “Huntingdon Racecourse’s Family Fun Days are always popular with spectators. With spring approaching and the days getting longer, we’re looking forward to welcoming an enthusiastic crowd for our first Sunday racing day of 2014.”

Racing starts on Sunday at 2pm. Gates open at 12 noon. Accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge. Adult tickets booked in advance for all racing days are discounted by ten per cent at www.huntingdon-racecourse.co.uk or on the ticket hotline on 0844 579 3007.
