More than 400 youngsters from Chatteris and the surrounding areas enjoyed the town’s first Chatter Jam Children’s Book Festival.

Organisers said they were overwhelmed by positive feedback from the day, and it was such a success that it could now become an annual event, if further sponsors can be found.
Organised by Cambridgeshire Libraries and the Friends of Chatteris Library, with sponsorship from Arts Council England, the festival gave families the opportunity to meet and work with leading figures from the world of children’s books.
There were storytelling workshops, sketching, crafts and more at the Kingsfield Primary School and, at the Library, the Lion Learners brought stories to life with rabbits, snakes, spiders and a lizard.
