WISBECH woman Kathleen McEwan had a Leap Year adventure to remember when she was reunited with her sisters for the first time in years.
Kathleen (65), met three of her four sisters at Heathrow airport after they flew down from their homes in Scotland before jetting off to Texas to meet up with the youngest of the quintet on February 29.
Kathleen her sisters Irene (63), Susan (58) and Margaret (68) flew out to be with Pamela (55) to help celebrate her being given the all-clear after battling a rare form of ovarian cancer.
It was the first time the sisters had all been together for at least seven years and they spent two weeks enjoying the sights of Texas including the Alamo.
“It was a fantastic fortnight. We went to the rodeo in Houston and the Alamo in San Antonio but mostly we just spent time together having a laugh,” explained Kathleen, who added it was the first time she had a holiday without her husband of 46 years, Andy.
In fact the sisters enjoyed themselves so much they are now planning a get together next year.
“We’re talking about meeting some where in Europe for a sunshine break,” said Kathleen, who added this Leap Year will definitely be one she remembers for the rest of her life.
