Members of the Craft Club, which meets at Manea Methodist Chapel on a Friday morning, held a 24-hour marathon of crafting and jigsaw puzzles to raise money through sponsorship to bring some cheer to children less fortunate this Christmas.

They are hoping to send 25 goodies boxes away in November and have so far raised over £270. Church steward Elsie Lawrence thanked star fundraiser Margaret Whitehead who has raised over £80 but also said that the group was grateful to all who had supported them, whether by coming along and crafting or by supporting the group financially.

The group meets every Friday between 10am and noon and anyone is welcome to join them at the chapel.
