A new Junior Phab Club is opening in Wisbech.

The youth club for both disabled and able-bodied children will run fortnightly at the Oasis Centre and the charity is looking for volunteers to help at the new club.

Volunteers will help start the club, organise social evenings for children and young people, as well as coming up with fresh ideas for fun activities, from quizzes and indoor games to cake decorating and keep fit sessions.

Junior Phab Club is for children aged between nine and 18 and will be held between 6pm and 8pm on fortnightly Fridays.

Phab is a national charity which aims to promote and encourage people of all abilities to come together on equal terms to “achieve complete inclusion within the wider community and to make more of life together on a social basis”.

There is a national network of over 180 clubs. The Midlands region organises fun days, weekends away and outdoor activities. Other projects are also organised by the charity, included independent living and two holiday homes by the sea.

To find out more about volunteering at Junior Phab Club, contact Heather Clarke, regional officer, on 0121-249-0537 or email Heather at heather.clarke@phab.org.uk, Carol Alderton on carol.alderton@btinternet.com or Candy Bowman on candybowman66@hotmail.com

Alternatively, if you are interested in volunteering, come along to the Oasis Centre on Friday, January 10 at 6.30pm.
