Facebook and posters used in Valentine’s campaign

Facebook adverts and posters will be used as part of a campaign to target men who are the victim of domestic abuse.

Part of the force’s Valentine’s campaign ‘She loves me, She loves me not’ aims to raise awareness of domestic abuse against men.

Posters, featuring a daisy with the ‘She loves me, she loves me not’ message, will be displayed at locations such as men’s toilets and sports changing rooms. Facebook adverts will also be used to target men in Cambridgeshire.

Det Insp Alan Page said: “Anecdotal evidence suggests that domestic abuse against men is under-reported and is an issue is one that doesn’t always get highlighted.

“By targeted men via social media and through our poster campaign we hope we can raise awareness of this issue and give victims the courage to come forward and report abuse.

“The force has specialist officers who can offer advice and support to victims.

“My message to anyone who is a victim of abuse but who has not yet reported it is clear – do not suffer in silence.”
