Around 40 dogs and their owners enjoyed the annual the March Dog Training Club’s Christmas Party - and many of them dressed up for the occasion.

Vet nurse Vanessa, from Amical Vets in March, was the judge for the fancy dress competition and picked out three winners from the many cleverly chosen costumes.

Winner was long-term club member Jane Lake with her rescue Staffie Carly and their clever costumes “Elf and Stafey”.

In second place was Valentine and his owner Pauline Saunders who costume was “on the beach”.

And in third place was Franklin the pug oned by Haylie Mason, who was dressed as one of Father Christmas’ elves.

The evening also saw the presentation by club chairman Peter Holder of trophies and prizes to the various group winners.
