Follow @FenCops for an insight into policing
People who live in Fenland can get the latest news on policing issues in their area by following a new social media site.
Police have launched the @FenCops account on Twitter to provide followers with news on a variety of police-related matters including crimes, crime prevention, court results and community issues.
There will also be regular updates from Fenland Inspector Robin Sissons.
The first Tweets by @FenCops will be today (February 15).
Inspector Sissons said: “There is a lot of great police work going on in the Fens every day and we want to inform as many people as possible.
“The Twitter account is a quick way for people to dip in and out of the work we do. It also allows followers to share this information with friends, family or colleagues and provide us with instant feedback on their thoughts.
“This is also an opportunity for us to reach an audience that might not have shown an interest, or expressed an opinion, on police work before.”
Hayley Morris, the force’s digital communications officer, said: “Twitter is an excellent way of keeping people right up to date with the latest information.
“If you want to get closer to policing in Fenland, follow @FenCops for an insight into policing where you live.”
