Pupils at Murrow Academy have been busy raising money to buy play equipment under the leadership of the school’s council.
Twelve pupils from years 1 to 6 make up the council and they have set a target of £6,000 to buy equipment for everyone to enjoy. That target has been split into various stages in a bid to ensure all those who help raise money get to play on the equipment. The first target is £1,521 and with money left from last year, together with fundraising so far this school year the children have already over half way there.
But they still need another £794 before they can complete stages one and two of the development. Planned fundraising planned for this term includes a raffle, cake stall, sponsored spell and an Easter chocolate tombola. Pupils are delighted with the support they have had so far from the local community and businesses.
