Traders in Wisbech are invited to get creative with their windows and recreate some of the favourite television scenes as today we are launching the annual Best Dressed Window competition, which is held as part of the Rose Fair.

This year’s theme is based on the Rose Fair parade, organised by the Round Table, which is greatest television moments.

The winner will receive the shield which is awarded each year by Wisbech Chamber of Commerce.

Judges will be out looking at the windows from 9am on July 2 and the trophy will be awarded that morning once the judges have made their decision.

The shield can then be displayed in the winning window for Rose Fair week.

Wisbech Salvation Army Shop took the spoils last year for their display which encapsulated 50 years of the Rose Fair.

Barbara Oliver, secretary of Wisbech Chamber of Commerce, said: “This is a very prestigious event and an attractive window display can draw people into shops.

“We’re looking forward to seeing some excellent entries.”

Closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday, June 27, so hurry and get your entry in.

Entries can be sent to Fenland Citizen and Lynn News, Limes House, Purfleet Street, Lynn, PE30 1HL. Or email news@fenlandcitizen.co.uk
